VENUS PEST COMPANY
Flea and Tick Control
Bryan, College Station & Brazos County
Help your pets feel at home again.
Fleas and ticks need attention in the places your pets live, too. We treat the home and yard while you coordinate pet protection with your veterinarian.
A COORDINATED SOLUTION
The pet is only part
of the picture.
With fleas, eggs fall from the animal into bedding, rugs, floor edges and shaded resting areas. Developing fleas can stay hidden even after the adults on your pet are gone.
Successful control brings pet care and environmental treatment together. We’ll ask where you’re seeing activity, where animals spend time and whether the property has recently been vacant. Tick problems need their own assessment, including the places ticks may climb or hide.
FIND THE RIGHT NEXT STEP
An active problem or ongoing protection?
WHAT TO EXPECT
Control built around your property.
We’ll explain the scope and price before work begins.
Tell us where the problem is happening
Inside, outside or both? We’ll ask about pets, recent activity and the areas animals use most. If you’re unsure what you’re seeing, identification comes first.
Prepare the home and yard
Good access matters. Arrange pet care with your veterinarian, complete the preparation below and plan for everyone to leave during an indoor treatment.
Treat the environment
We address the affected indoor and outdoor areas, paying attention to pet resting spots and protected habitat. Indoor treatment requires access to the house. A typical flea service takes about an hour.
Follow through after service
Keep pets protected and follow the instructions we provide. For fleas, regular vacuuming helps the remaining adults emerge from their protective cocoons so the treatment can reach them.
UNDERSTANDING THE RESULTS
Seeing fleas again doesn't always mean starting over.
Flea pupae are protected inside cocoons. You may notice a temporary increase in activity around two weeks after treatment as new adults emerge. With the recommended care, that activity should decline over the following week.
Vacuum every couple of days for two weeks after service, following your technician’s instructions. If activity isn’t declining, contact us so we can assess what you’re seeing.
YOUR PART MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Keep pet prevention current.
Our flea and tick treatment warranty requires pets to be on veterinarian prescribed flea and tick prevention. Treating the environment can’t stop an untreated animal from bringing new eggs into the home.
We treat the property. Your veterinarian helps you choose the appropriate protection for each pet.
BEFORE WE ARRIVE
A little preparation is essential.
Please share these requirements with anyone responsible for getting the property ready.
Inside the home
- Complete carpet cleaning or flooring replacement before treatment.
- Clear clutter from floors so we can reach the areas that need treatment.
- Strip bedding from all beds on treatment day. Wash and dry it, including pet bedding, before putting it back.
- Point out where pets sleep, rest and spend time.
Outside and on service day
- Mow the yard and pick up outdoor clutter.
- Turn sprinklers off and arrange for outside workers to be elsewhere during treatment.
- Arrange for all people and pets to leave during indoor treatment.
- Plan to remain out of treated areas for at least one hour afterward, until dry and until your technician’s instructions allow return.
Call us before the appointment if anything is unclear. Cleaning or replacing treated flooring afterward can remove treatment residue and reduce control.
RENTAL HOMES & VACANT PROPERTIES
No pets now?
Fleas can still be there.
Fleas may remain after a previous pet has moved out. In an empty home, protected adults can wait inside cocoons until someone walks through and triggers their emergence.
Owners and managers should contact us before scheduling so we can coordinate access, occupant preparation and any cleaning or flooring work. Treatment works best when everyone knows what needs to happen.
Not sure what's biting?
Bite marks alone don’t identify a pest. Tell us what you’ve seen and where it happens. A clear photo with something beside the pest for scale can help.
PROTECTION BEYOND TODAY
Keep the yard in your pest control plan.
YardGard and TotalGard include seasonal flea and tick prevention. Their combined warranty includes any needed treatment inside or outside for infestations that develop after enrollment, provided every pet remains continuously on veterinarian prescribed flea and tick prevention. Infestations already active at enrollment require separate evaluation and pricing.
These plans are for single family homes. An infestation already present when your plan begins requires separate evaluation and pricing.
What does flea treatment cover?
Our standalone flea service addresses fleas indoors and outdoors in the yard. We'll confirm the areas involved and any access requirements before scheduling.
What warranty comes with flea and tick control?
Standalone flea and tick control has a three month warranty. We'll return for covered flea or tick activity at no additional charge if the expected results aren't achieved. Pets must be on veterinarian prescribed flea and tick prevention. Temporary flea emergence after treatment is expected, and preparation and aftercare are essential.
Do you also treat ticks?
Yes. Tell us where you're finding them so we can assess the affected areas and likely habitat. Tick control carries the same three month warranty as flea control, with the pet prevention requirement. Tick problems don't follow the same emergence pattern described here for fleas.
Is this included in regular quarterly pest control?
Quarterly Pest Control, HomeGard and HomeGard Plus don't include flea elimination.
Can you treat my dog or cat?
We treat the home and yard. Your veterinarian should guide the choice of flea and tick prevention for your animals. Coordinate pet protection with environmental treatment.
How much does treatment cost?
Contact us to discuss your property and the problem. We'll confirm the treatment areas and quote before work begins. Larger homes and yards require an individual bid.
