What YardGard includes

Outdoor protection through the main pest season

YardGard focuses on thepests that make it harder for families and pets to enjoy the yard. Seven scheduled visits keep the program active from April through October, when mosquito, fire ant, flea, and tick pressure is usually highest.

Whole lawn fire ants

Instead of treating only visible mounds, we manage fire ants across the treated lawn.

2

April and June IGR

To interrupt flea development, we include an insect growth regulator with the April and June lawn applications.

Vertical tick habitat

Because ticks do not remain only on the ground, we treat appropriate vertical habitat where they may wait for a person or animal to pass.

Warranty services

If covered activity remains or returns between visits, contact us for qualifying warranty service.

What to expect

How the YardGard Outdoor Pest Control Plan works

The program follows the outdoor pest season. First, we begin in April. Then we return monthly through October and adjust each visit to current weather, pest pressure, and property conditions.

1

Inspect and begin protection

First, we inspect the yard, vegetation, shaded resting areas, outdoor living spaces, lawn conditions, and likely flea and tick habitat. Then we begin mosquito, fire ant, flea, and tick service.

2

Return through the season

Next, seven scheduled visits from April through October keep pressure on covered outdoor pests. The April and June lawn applications include an insect growth regulator.

3

Provide warranty support

If covered activity remains or returns between scheduled visits, contact us. We will inspect the problem and provide qualifying warranty service at no additional charge.

Mosquito management

Why YardGard uses monthly mosquito service

Mosquitoes continually move into yards from neighboring properties and nearby breeding sites. Therefore, one treatment cannot keep new mosquitoes from arriving all season. Instead, monthly service lets us keep treating the shaded vegetation and resting areas where mosquitoes are most likely to spend time.

Still, the goal is a substantial reduction in mosquito pressure, not a promise that no mosquito will enter the yard. If mosquito activity remains unusually high after a treatment has had time to work, contact us so we can evaluate the property and provide qualifying warranty service.

Seven visits from April through October
Likely mosquito resting areas
Shaded vegetation near outdoor spaces
Adjustments for weather and pest pressure
Qualifying warranty service between visits
Service throughout Brazos County

Flea and tick prevention

A lawn program built around how fleas and ticks develop

YardGard includes an insect growth regulator with the April and June lawn applications. As a result, this helps interrupt flea development during the months when outdoor pressure begins to build. In addition, we treat appropriate lawn areas along with likely vertical tick habitat, because ticks do not remain only on the ground.

If a flea or tick infestation develops after enrollment, the combined warranty includes any needed treatment inside or outside, provided every pet remains continuously on veterinarian prescribed flea and tick prevention. YardGard is preventive. If an active flea or tick infestation is present when the plan begins, we may need to price a separate treatment before the ongoing warranty can begin.

IGR in April and June
Appropriate lawn treatment
Likely vertical tick habitat
Pet prevention required for warranty service
Separate treatment for an infestation present at enrollment
Monthly observation through October

Whole lawn fire ants

Fire ant protection beyond the house dripline

Instead, YardGard manages fire ants across the treated lawn rather than limiting service to visible mounds or the area beside the home. That broader approach matters because colonies move, new queens arrive, and some mounds remain difficult to see until activity increases.

Therefore, if covered fire ant activity remains or returns between scheduled visits, contact us. We will evaluate the lawn and provide qualifying warranty service when the activity falls within the plan terms.

Whole lawn fire ant management
Not limited to visible mounds
Coverage beyond the house dripline
Seasonal observation during every visit
Qualifying warranty service
Property size limits apply

The science of pest control

Outdoor service changes with pest pressure

YardGard uses the PerimeterGard approach developed by Dr. Scott Lingren. It is built around Integrated Pest Management, so we identify the pest, understand its biology, and place prevention, monitoring, and treatment where each will do the most good. A 2002 study of an IPM program in federal buildings reported a 93 percent reduction in pesticide use while pest service requests dropped 89 percent.

Clear service boundaries

What YardGard covers and what requires separate service

YardGard is designed for seasonal outdoor pest pressure. However, routine household pest control is not included. Flea or tick infestations already active at enrollment may require separately priced corrective treatment.

Household pests

Routine ants, spiders, scorpions, crickets, and other household pests require Quarterly Pest Control, HomeGard, HomeGard PLUS, or TotalGard.

Active infestations

An active indoor or outdoor flea or tick infestation present when the plan begins may require a separate treatment before preventive warranty service can apply.

Property limits and access

The listed price covers single family homes up to 3,500 square feet on lots up to one quarter acre. Larger properties may cost more, and we must have access to the treatment areas.

When another plan may fit better

Choose YardGard when your main concerns are mosquitoes, fire ants, fleas, and ticks outdoors. By contrast, HomeGard and HomeGard PLUS focus on the home and perimeter. TotalGard combines HomeGard PLUS with the full YardGard program.

The Venus guarantee

The YardGard Outdoor Pest Control Plan guarantee

If covered activity remains after treatment has had time to work or returns between scheduled visits, contact us. We will inspect the problem and provide qualifying warranty service at no additional charge. However, mosquito service is intended to provide a substantial reduction in pressure, not prevent every mosquito from entering the yard. If a flea or tick infestation develops after enrollment, the combined warranty includes any needed treatment inside or outside, provided every pet remains continuously on veterinarian prescribed flea and tick prevention. Property access, existing infestations, weather, and other plan terms may affect coverage. The service agreement controls the full terms and available remedies.

Common questions

YardGard Outdoor Pest Control Plan FAQs

How often is YardGard service performed?

YardGard includes seven scheduled visits from April through October. Together, these visits follow the main outdoor pest season in Bryan and College Station.

Does YardGard include household pest control?

No. Instead, YardGard is an outdoor plan for mosquitoes, whole lawn fire ants, and lawn flea and tick prevention. Quarterly Pest Control, HomeGard, HomeGard PLUS, or TotalGard covers routine household pests.

Will YardGard eliminate every mosquito?

No outdoor treatment can prevent every mosquito from entering a yard. Instead, YardGard is designed to provide a substantial reduction in mosquito pressure through regular treatment of likely resting areas during the main season.

Does YardGard treat the entire lawn for fire ants?

Yes. YardGard provides whole lawn fire ant management rather than limiting treatment to visible mounds or the area near the house.

How does YardGard help prevent fleas and ticks?

Specifically, the lawn program includes an insect growth regulator with the April and June applications. We treat appropriate lawn areas and likely vertical tick habitat around the property.

What is required for flea and tick warranty service?

If a flea or tick infestation develops after enrollment, the combined warranty includes any needed treatment inside or outside, provided every pet remains continuously on veterinarian prescribed flea and tick prevention. An active infestation present when YardGard begins may require a separate treatment before the preventive warranty can apply.

What happens when weather affects a scheduled treatment?

Because weather matters, we may adjust or reschedule service when conditions would prevent a proper treatment. If weather affects the results, contact us so we can evaluate the property and provide qualifying warranty service.

Are there property restrictions or additional charges?

The listed price is for single family homes up to 3,500 square feet on lots up to one quarter acre. Additional charges may apply to larger properties or active infestations that require separate treatment. Service also requires access to the treatment areas.
